Artwork Description
This work (Zzaan) or muezzin’s call for prayer in the colours of the day time prayer or (Zuhr) as it is called. They become brighter as the day grows, and turn dark in the final one. In all these hues, a few lines criss-cross playfully. Shah, interestingly, doesn’t mix colours.
It is interseting that Shah let the yellow colour be faint, almost vulnerable, seems to be spreading acroos the canvas.It is delibrate it does not have defined borders and criss-crosses the strict colour line-boundaries. The white undertone lines accentuate the spritual contemplation of his creative soul.
