Sanket Virangami

“My works reflect the overall perspective of the world around me. They narrate the shifting and transforming time and space in life. The background surface of my canvases are drawn from the conclusions of Panchtantra(ancient Indian inter-related collection of animal fables in verse and prose, in a frame story format) stories and images.

They are then infused with the images of my childhood growing up in the rural areas and juxtaposed with my ongoing journey in an urban city. I use layering and blending on the background surface through loose rhythmic patterns, thus achieving a third dimension through merging of two vivid sources”.

“Employing the technique of camouflaging in Indian miniature ( kantha technique ) but on a larger scale to depict the changes in lifestyle of people. One need to explore the painting with a closer view as it leaves many hints which offer several conclusions regarding urban and rural life, the polite society and the rules of conversation”.
